One of these inspiring initiatives is DeFINE, who has opened a call for applications for their Bespoke Mentoring Programme which will close on the 15th of August.

DeFINE (Developing a Fashion-tech Innovation Network for Europe) is a collaborative project co-funded by the European Commission’s COSME programme which aims to support the fusion of cutting-edge technologies and innovation with the European fashion and design industries. Throughout the three years of the project (2018-2021), they will deliver a Europe-wide programme of inter-related networking events, training, mentoring support and knowledge-sharing, for the benefit of incubators & accelerators, start-ups & SMEs, and financiers.

The Bespoke Mentoring Programme will deliver to 25 registered start-ups & SMEs technical and strategic support in order to facilitate and scale-up innovations in terms of products/services, processes, and market approaches within the Fashion-Tech field. Mentorship aims to boost innovation through knowledge transfer and cross-sectoral collaboration. Mentors will be selected from the consortium partners which are European leading fashion and design academic institutions, Business Support Organizations and industry specialist networks. Additional relevant support from external sources will be provided, when required.

Tailored mentoring and coaching will be delivered to the selected candidates for a duration of 8 months and will lead to the launch of a proof of concept or prototype illustrating the innovation development. We will provide support thorough a dedicated programme of 80 hours mentoring according to the selected businesses specific needs.
