HANNA-KAISA ALASEN A NEW CHAIRMAN OF ORNAMO

HANNA-KAISA ALASEN A NEW CHAIRMAN OF ORNAMO

Our talented WORTH Steering board member Hanna-Kaisa Alanen has recently become the new chairman of Ornamo. She was voted into the position at the Ornamo Autumn Meeting on November 8, 2013 at the Fiskars premises in Helsinki. Alanen starts her new position at the beginning of 2019.

Hanna-Kaisa Alasa has over 20 years of experience as a product and concept designer and a good understanding of cooperation with various manufacturers around the world. In addition, Alanen is a doctoral student at the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä, with a major in Cognitive Science.

Ornamo Art and Design Finland was established in 1911, as an expert organisation in the field of design with advancing the profession of designers and promote the role of design in society. They support you in your career, whether you are a designer or an artist, or looking for inspiring employment opportunities. Their activities rely on a community principle: they work for the benefit of each other and the entire profession.

Hanna-Kaisa is coming into her position with fresh and new ideas that will continue to grow the presence of the organization within the creative industry. She states ‘For me, design is about creative thinking, innovation and vision that can be used to process material and immaterial products, services, systems, concepts or brands, which, of course, requires professionalism and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary way’.

We can’t wait to see where this new path takes our highly talented Steering Board Member and we wish her all the luck for the next phase of her career.
