Have you ever imagined that Scandinavian Hygge aesthetics could be combined with Japanese minimalism?
Those 2 countries are very distant geographically, but they shared very similar design principles, this year a new trend is born from both these traditions: Japandi. This trend is perfect for those who love elegant and functional solutions and it’s the best choice to feel comfortable in our houses, especially in this particular moment we are living in.
Japandi, that is trending on Pinterest, makes a central point of minimalism and comfort, and it’s easy to achieve. This trend aims to transform our houses in quiet retreats, by combining minimalism and natural materials. The shades to focus on to create a Japandi room are soft and hearthy are more up-to-date than shades of blue, celadon green or emerald, but also taupe, ivory, white and grey. A very calming and relaxing palette that transforms every home in a quiet and comfortable nest.
The combination at the base of the Japandi trend is quite simple: it will require some decluttering (Marie Kondo is a master with that!) and to collect basic pieces that look good together. The choice of a special lighting, some lettering and a wallpaper inspired by floral motifs will complete the mix.
