New designs combining circularity with tech innovations

WORTH exhibition at Bottega Immagine, Milano, 16-21 April 2024,

Groundbreaking tech innovation, sustainability, and a forward-looking creative perspective are the driving forces behind the 68 winning projects of the latest call from the WORTH Partnership Project, Europe's largest creative incubator funded by the European Union's COSME Programme, dedicated to the creation of cross-discipline transnational collaborations between designers, creatives, manufacturing companies (SMEs), crafters and technology companies to develop innovative business ideas in the lifestyle industries.  

WORTH supports design-driven projects and business ideas, wherein the added value strongly lies in design concepts by integrating disruptive techniques and sustainability in a creative way.

The selected projects cover the following lifestyle sectors:  fashion and textile, footwear, fur and leather, furniture/home decoration, interior design/architecture, accessories and jewellery and they contribute in an innovative and creative way to such objectives as, among others:  circular economy, transition towards more sustainable production and consumption; advanced digitised manufacturing, digitised value chains and business models; social innovation and social inclusion; European cultural heritage preservation for social cohesion and well-being, reinvention of craftsmanship; unique and disruptive design approaches; use of innovative materials, etc.

At the exhibition we will showcase among others home decoration projects offering sustainable and visually attractive modular solutions, made from recycled materials, fashion projects which through exploration and research examine ways to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern 3D knitting machines, culminating in a innovative collections for everyone and many more.

What is WORTH Partnership Project

A European Commission initiative supporting collaborations between SME and start-up designers, manufacturers, and technology firms to create innovative and design-driven products and ideas that contribute to global challenges, accelerating green and digital transitions and related transformations of the European economy, industry, and society. The WORTH project seeks to promote innovation and sustainability in the lifestyle industries  by facilitating cross-border and cross-discipline partnerships and providing financial, business, and technical support.. The selected projects receive incubation support including funding, tailored mentoring for 10 months, networking opportunities, international visibility, including in relevant design events, and access to a network of experts and stakeholders operating in the creative industries across Europe.

The initiative  promotes creativity and entrepreneurship in the European Union and fostersinternational cooperation and exchange in the creative industries.
