VALENCIA ANNOUNCED AS THE WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL OF 2022

It is great enthusiasm we share the news that Valencia, Spain has just been announced as the World Design Capital (WDC)® 2022 by The World Design Organization (WDO)® due to its long standing design legacy which demonstrates the city’s effective and strategic use of design and its impact on the industry.

After the success of the WORTH Weekend which was held in Valencia earlier this year, we feel a personal connection to the place where such an amazing group of creatives congregated to and where the winners of the 2nd call were presented and selected.

Valencia is the eighth city to hold this biennial designation and its success has been attributed to its strategic location on the coast of Spain with a well-established expertise in design which is evident on all levels from local, regional, national and international.

World Design Capital is a biennial designation celebrating cities that use design to improve economic, social and cultural life. Previous designations include Torino (2008), Seoul (2010), Helsinki (2012), Cape Town (2014), and Taipei (2016), Mexico City (2018). Lille Metropole will hold the WDC title in 2020.
