The Worth Partnership project, an initiative funded by the European Union's COSME program, is preparing for an online exhibition, accessible from July 3rd to July 7th. The goal is to recreate the exhibition that took place in Milan during the Worth Exhibition at Milan Design Week last April, where the winners of the project's first call were presented. However, this time, the exhibition will be virtual and specifically designed for those who could not attend the event in person.
A total of 65 winning projects will be showcased, involving 149 partners from 34 European countries. The purpose of this initiative is to develop innovative and design-oriented products that contribute in an innovative and creative way to objectives such as circular economy, transition towards more sustainable production and consumption, advanced digitised manufacturing, efficient use of energy resources and to reduce the carbon footprint of lifestyle industries.
The first call for proposals was devoted to the New European Bauhaus, selecting projects that meet the three main pillars: beautiful, sustainable, together.
This ambitious objective was made possible through a collaborative approach, where participants co-designed, co-created, and co-developed solutions. The presented results have ensured more sustainable, beautiful, and inclusive living environments.
The winning projects, which will be presented in the online exhibition, span a variety of sectors, including textiles and clothing, footwear, leather and fur, home furnishings and decorations, interior design and architecture, jewellery, and accessories. Among them there are a fashion line that showcases the potential of AI-led design combined with human craftsmanship, eco-friendly and ethical baby furniture made of wood, a biodegradable wall light, textiles and yarn made from human hair waste, and an immersive textile experience that transforms online libraries into real-life research and experimental labs.
Furthermore, as part of the Worth project, a series of workshops dedicated to the creative world and professionals working in it will be available online from July 3rd to July 7th, coinciding with the exhibition. These workshops will cover topics such as different investment methods, financing options, and the importance of communication to increase the visibility of creative projects.
