CONNEXTYLE

Multi-sensory stimulation system

CONNEXTYLE

The project

CONNEXTYLE: MULTI-SENSORY STIMULATION SYSTEM.
SENSOR SHIRT USED WITH THE CONSTRUCTING CONNECTIVITY STROKE REHABILITATION METHOD

THE CHALLENGE
To facilitate easy use and make easier the live of stroke patients, while offering a stylish product.

THE SOLUTION
The partnership has develop a wearable device which combines movement with sound and visual pattern-making to improve and facilitate the rehabilitation process of stroke patients.
The prototype obtained represents a fashionable and useful product for the rehabilitation of stroke patients. Patients perform exercises and create audio and visual patterns through body movement which increases neuronal connections. This multi-sensory stimulation system is more effective at creating new neural pathways, helping patients to relearn how to use the body. The design for the Connextyle Wearable integrates eco-friendly knit fabrics into the garment and silver-coated conductive knit fabric into the technical sleeves. The new design is practical for stroke patients (easy front entry, magnetic closures, snap-on-and-off sleeves).
It brings the concept to a sophisticated level and achieves proof-of-concept. In addition to the practical components, the new prototype demonstrates the Kintsugi concept by transforming a technical rehabilitation shirt into a fashionable quality garment. The sleeves that are used during rehabilitation are traded in for fashion sleeves, allowing the garment to transform, change, and grow with the patient, becoming more beautiful than before.

NOW…
Partners want to create links with profesional associatios (doctors, physiotherapists…) in order they could know the advantages of the product in the rehabilitation process and prescribe it.
