FRAGMENT GARMENTS: SEAMLESS MODULAR CLOTHING, DIGITALLY CRAFTED, LOCALLY AND ON-DEMAND PRODUCED, WHICH PEOPLE CAN TRANSFORM IN A QUICK AND EASY WAY
To develop a fashionable modular garment collection blending sustainability, design in an open-object philosophy involving the user into the creation process.
Within the project, 2 sessions of prototyping were finished. The first one resulted in 4 versions of the same seamless short jacket made of different materials and colors. The second one resulted in 3 prototypes one long navy coat for autumn with leather patch pockets and silk lining, one short jacket for winter with fur collar and silk lining and one middle length coat for mid-season in a 3D knit and silk triple organza.
The project starts from the separate components of other types of products, which are assembled together and form a very useful and pleasant product.
In this context, this project aims at integrating this collection into a circular concept design, where the ¨fragments¨ can be used to create one’s garments.
There are several fragments materials and colors which can be combined in order to always be able to improve and change the aspect of your jacket, transforming it into a timeless piece of garment.
This collection is a real forward move, because this new zero waste module helped us to reduce the textile cutting waste at the same time it enhanced the productivity.
The project concept is based on the saving, manufacturing and involve the user in the creation process.
The partners are working on an upgrade of the product in order to increase the fabric resistance.
