THE CHALLENGE
Fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world. But at the same time, it is one of the most creative, lucrative and engaging. Therein lies fashion’s unique responsibility and opportunity. It is necessary to rethink how we create, design, produce, sell and use clothing so that the industry can be a force for good and act respectfully in the world.

THE SOLUTION
FreyZein creates Outerwear – radically natural. Our developed innovative fabric is BiCircular™. It can be reused or it will decompose. Our nature-inspired fabric is water-repellent and breathable.

THE IDEA:

Nature is us – we are nature. It is our origin and place of belonging. FreyZein is a group of likeminded individuals who want to enjoy their time on this planet and make an impact with their deeds.  We believe that people who love being outside are interested in keeping our planet clean and beautiful. FreyZein Natural Outerwear is strictly made with neither synthetics nor plastics.

THE BIRTH OF THE PROJECT:

Why do we create synthetic products which lasts for years or with love centuries but then harm the planet for hundreds of years? That´s why we founded FreyZein Outerwear and started disrupting the market highly dominated by synthetics.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS:

The team around FreyZein is particularly interested in the design process of circular & sustainable products. No fabric suited the needs of our BiCircular™ innovation approach. With an idea and a vision, we started to search for solutions and found it in developing our very own fabric. With the support of the Worth Project & EURECAT we continuously developed our envisioned fabric innovation, entirely based on natural and low-climate impact fibers.

THE COLLABORATION:

Together with EURECAT we worked towards our vision to create a densely woven double layered fabric for our Freyzein Outerwear. This fabric with its naturally textured look was made for our jackets – completely free from synthetics. Through the partnership we were able to connect the idea of this new material with the innovative technological procedures we needed to bring our product to life.

THE FUTURE:

Our vision as FreyZein is to disrupt the textile market with our radically natural fabrics and outerwear inspired by circular business principles. We believe in design for apparel & textiles that can be born and reborn again and after a long life become nutrients for the soil.
