The message of the project
The digital platform LoopLook offers a transformative fashion experience within the circular economy. Through an innovative pilot collection featuring upcycled designs by Dominique Krauch and 3D visualisation, consumers can effortlessly transform their old, unwanted garments into unique replicas via a simple online booking system.
The idea behind the project
According to WRAP UK, upcycling techniques and services could extend the lifespan of clothing, potentially replacing new purchases by 57% and reducing CO2 emissions, water usage, and waste by up to 30%. However, upcycling solutions are not widely accessible to consumers, particularly concerning their existing wardrobes. LoopUp addresses the disastrous social and environmental impact of fast fashion by merging digitalisation with the creative potential of upcycling design and on-demand manufacturing.
What next?
LoopUp aims to revolutionise fashion by creating a seamless local upcycling supply chain that combines creativity and craftsmanship with advanced 3D design, augmented reality (AR), and virtual try-ons. The platform envisions a global network of upcycling designers connected to on-demand manufacturing hubs within users’ locations. At the heart of its mission is the ambition to boost sustainability at scale, preserve cultural heritage, and empower small businesses to strengthen regional economies.
