The idea behind the project
Lumin’s mission is to shape a circular future for various waste streams and to educate society on the potential for waste to be both beautiful and functional. This project aims to foster a collaborative environment between public institutions and the community through design. Various waste streams will be repurposed into colourful, translucent, glass-like sheets, which will then be crafted into high-end design objects that harmoniously reintegrate into their respective spaces. During the Worth Partnership, the partners will create the first product collection—modular space dividers that are fully disassemblable, with sheets that can be repurposed due to the properties of natural polymers.
What next?
Lumin seeks to trigger a paradigm shift regarding waste, encouraging behavioural change. Following the Worth project, Lumin aims to accelerate production at various stages by collaborating with third parties (such as i-did) to create a diverse range of materials and designs.
