Meltdown Jewellery Collection

A unique and modern jewellery collection that can be worn for any occasion and instantly enhances any look

Meltdown Jewellery Collection

The key message of the project

The sculptural and organic shapes of artists such as Constantin Brancusi, Pere Gifre, Based Upon Studio, Ken Kelleher, and Rado Kirov influenced the collection. This is the starting point for the creation of a modern jewellery line that can be worn on any occasion and instantly elevates any look.

The collection also pays homage to the designer's Ukrainian ancestors, since she has a strong affinity for Ukrainian culture. As a result of this endeavor, the company hopes to help Ukrainian jewellery artisans and encourage the continuation of traditional manufacturing.

The idea behind the project

Meltdown Jewellery Collection is a series of contemporary jewellery objects that explore the lines between technology, crafts, and the human body. Inspired by human curves and fluid shapes, the collection aims to take tradition forward into the future by combining modern technologies with traditional artisan techniques.

To achieve organic shapes, the designer uses 3D scans of human bodies to 3D model the jewellery. The fit and design of the 3D models are then tested in real life by using 3D printing technology to iterate the design and assess how it merges with the curves of the body.

The final designs will be manufactured by skilled craftsmen from Ukraine who use future-oriented production techniques like 3D printing and lost wax casting to achieve maximum precision and quality. The products will be made of recycled sterling silver and coated with either rhodium or gold vermeil. Each piece is carefully hand-polished to offer a beautiful shine and laser engraved with the brand logo. So the jewellery is not just beautiful, but it is also produced by fair means and in a sustainable way.

The brand's goal is to push traditional jewellery creation one step further by combining recycled silver and modern technology.

How does the project contribute to the New European Bauhaus Initiative?

The Meltdown Jewellery Collection will pave the way for more environmentally friendly manufacturing. By employing recycled silver, the idea is also to push the boundaries of traditional jewellery manufacturing. Thus, while introducing the jewellery line, the intention is to sustain and develop the designs and manufacturing processes. This will assist in generating and maintaining a loyal consumer base that shares the brand's values.
