MoDuLaR

A modular furniture line that sparks the imagination of the client and brings people together as they build their homes

MoDuLaR

The message of the project

MoDuLaR is a modular furniture line that stimulates the customer's imagination and brings people together as they construct their house. Innovative methods provide several combinations that may be improved and altered over time. They intend to create a collection centred on the consumer's modern demands while keeping beauty and human size in mind.

The idea behind the project

They are interested as architects and designers in how often the layouts of their houses alter over time. When designing interiors, they discovered that most of their clients wanted to be involved in the process of selecting, adopting, and assembling their furniture, and they realised that the market lacked aesthetic and durable furniture that could adapt to changes in lifestyles and encourage consumer creativity.  That's how they got the concept for MoDuLaR.

MoDuLaR is about joy, beauty, simplicity, a better customer experience, and a sustainable approach to furniture design and use.

With MoDuLaR, the aim is to bring people together when assembling the components, as well as provide furniture that will evolve with them, serve through many life stages, and be ideal for a wide range of personalities. The plan is to create a modular furniture system that can be assembled by the user and later remodelled. They are expanding the lifespan of the product and thereby reducing the environmental imprint of the production process via flexibility.

Their collaboration brings together skills, experience, and resources. The design team is located in Slovenia, which has a strong history of woodworking. Producing components locally not only implies using environmentally friendly materials, but it also reduces the carbon footprint owing to shorter transportation routes and encourages local traditions and expertise. The modular system's joints will be manufactured by an experienced company in Spain using additive manufacturing technologies.

What next?

With MoDuLaR, they intend to bring people together when assembling the components, as well as provide furniture that will evolve with them, serve through many life stages, and be ideal for a wide range of personalities.

They think that the collaboration of skilled designers and producers will result in carefully conceived and executed high-value furniture items that blend local traditions and resources with the use of cutting-edge technology and materials.
