The message of the project
In collaboration with Freyzein and BEES, the NextGen soul-Cap is introduced, crafted from biobased, water-repellent, plastic-free fabrics combined with recycled climbing ropes. This project incorporates innovative closing mechanisms, reduces waste, promotes sustainability, and invites consumers to "wear the change" by opting for eco-conscious, regenerative fashion.
The idea behind the project
The textile industry, which heavily relies on petrochemicals, is the second-largest polluter after oil, according to a 2020 study published in Nature Reviews Earth & Environment. Despite advancements in technology, textiles have lagged behind. This project addresses the issue by creating the NextGen soul-Cap, utilising circular materials, rejecting plastics, and incorporating recycled climbing ropes. Innovative closures and eco-friendly designs challenge conventional practices, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
What next?
This project is scalable, aiming for long-term collaboration while exploring new ways to move fashion beyond petrochemicals. By adopting novel design solutions and utilising recycled and sustainable materials, it aims to reduce waste and promote a circular economy. Following the WORTH initiative, the goal is to establish the NextGen soul-Cap in the market, advancing eco-design practices within the lifestyle industry.
