Series 1

The project contributes to the creation of a sustainable fashion ecosystem through the use of blockchain technology.

Series 1

The message of the project

The key to fostering these types of collaborations lies in preserving traditional artisanal practices and giving cultural recognition to Latin American communities while safeguarding their cultural heritage. Through collaboration with brands in the European fashion industry, the project aim is to reintroduce these sustainable practices to the market by generating traceable products that can endure over time. It's the fusion of tradition and technology; Series One implements traditional techniques in contemporary design products.

The idea behind the project

The main idea behind Series One is to create a collection for Studio Cumbre in collaboration with Latin American artisan communities. The project adapts designs from the brand's zero waste pattern to traditional techniques, making it easier for artisans to implement new alternatives. All garments are made with locally sourced natural fibers, and each will have a blockchain record certifying its traceability and cultural heritage recognition.

What next?

The aim for Design for Cultural Collaboration (DCC) is to evolve into a leading platform for fostering collaborations between artisan communities and the fashion industry. Utilizing blockchain technology, it seeks to enhance transparency in artisanal work.

It envisioned DCC as a catalyst for integrating traditional artisanal practices into the fashion market, introducing certified digital traceability for artisanal products. This will elevate the status of traditional craftsmanship and promote cultural heritage preservation.

The goal is to expand DCC's reach and influence, becoming the preferred platform for brands seeking to collaborate with artisan communities. Through capsule collections, it will continue to showcase innovative combinations of contemporary design and sustainable traditional practices.

DCC remains committed to facilitating meaningful dialogues, promoting fair trade practices, and crafting products with a positive social impact. Series One exemplifies their dedication to merging tradition with innovation through cultural collaboration.

The mission is to merge tradition with innovation through cultural collaboration. It builds bridges that blend fashion, tradition, and technology to lead to a present with a positive impact.
