Wear Pure

An environmentally-respectful garment

Wear Pure

The project

WEAR PURE: AN ENVIRONMENTALLY-RESPECTFUL GARMENT, MANUFACTURED BY COMBINING TEXTILES AND 3D PRINTED ELEMENTS WITH PROPERTIES CAPABLE OF CAPTURING CO2 FROM THE ATMOSPHERE

THE CHALLENGE
To digitally design and manufacture a garment partially made up using textiles and partially 3D printed elements and incorporating a CO2 purifying technology.

THE SOLUTION
Driven by the active-material technology that purifies CO2, this project focuses on the application of this material on garments, making it as a tool to reduce Co2 levels in the air.
Through this proof of concept, the fashion industry would be able to boost better economic, environmental, and social outcomes — all opportunities that are the core of the issue of the current textile processing system.
CO2pure, is a 100% natural, mineral, microparticle compound that has the property of mineralising the main greenhouse gases (CO2 and NOx), by attracting these gases to the area where the active-material is applied.
A series of thin walls are 3d generated in order to channel the air flows into a number of narrow tunnels arranged all over the garment. These tunnels are strategically positioned based on the air-flow study of a body in movement.
For the correct validation of the technology the project has created an apparatus for measuring the efficiency of the new and innovative garments.
Addressing the environmental pollution issue, Wearpure project developed a new PLA filament material composed of Co2Pure powder and a biodegradable polymer.

NOW…
Partners are making the necessary arrangements to funtion as a Brand and start sells, at the same time they are continuously identifying different applications suitable for the implementation of the developed technology.
