The message of the project
The Biobracelet project derives from the current lineup of biodegradable phone cases that have risen to the top of the best performing product segments. It is made from a trending, stylish, functional, and sustainable material called PBAT, which is a copolymer. The goal is to create a bracelet made from biodegradable plastic that will serve as a platform for a unique, sustainable, and innovative style. There is also the possibility to add lockets and charms made from biodegradable plastic, imbued with endless design possibilities and innovative materials from the stock, such as real coffee, lavender, alpine hay, or FSC-certified wood. These can be precision-engraved with symbols representing passions or hobbies (cycling, diving, mountains). This ensures a meaningful connection for the user in a sustainable style while using one-of-a-kind materials on an expandable product platform.
The idea behind the project
The Pandora bracelet serves as a proof of concept while the direction is towards sustainable innovation. The partnership with Designgang from Torino will ensure product design based on their extensive references in product design, taking into account injection molding and material specifics to achieve the best result. MMORE brings an already expansive network of worldwide market presence, in-house production, complementary products, and recognition as a sustainable style brand. Designgang, with its extensive experience in product design, will ensure a market-viable and interesting sustainable design. The Biobracelet aims to expand the biodegradable phone cases to wearables and accessories, complementing a unique and sustainable lifestyle. The bracelet will be a standalone product but also offers the possibility to expand with charms of unique designs or materials that complement individual passions, hobbies, or style preferences.
What next?
This approach increases the market potential of the product, allowing for quick implementation and testing of new designs, and serves as a sustainable platform product. Within WORTH, the aim is to achieve a market-ready product, finance the production, coordinate the design, finalize the design with the designer partner, produce a prototype, and proceed with tooling and the first batch after confirmation. It is a combination of the most advanced biodegradable material available, imbued with locally sourced plant-based organic materials (coffee, lavender, alpine hay) or FSC-certified wood.
