The message of the project
ANNA RUOHONEN is a Finnish Paris-based designer and founder of the clothing label Anna Ruohonen Paris ; Contemporary, fine crafted, tailored, made-to-order atelier-collections from fine biodegradable European fabrics.
Today she is proposing a new way of thinking about designing, producing and consuming fashion. Recycling and reusing are the end solutions in fashion chains. It is important to focus on the beginning of the process; to produce only what is needed; on demand, less, in better quality, more accurately, in the right size.
Together with the Finnish start-up company CHOOZR she will bring made-to-measure clothing and e-commerce together through an innovative digital measuring system. Individually produced designer clothing by craftsmen can be adjusted to clients’ measurements from a distance.
The Idea Behind the Project
The model of no stock- concept will reduce overproduction and therefore waste. Well made products can be repaired, recycled and reused. Perfectly sized products will reduce returns, increase the lifespan and therefore reduce the carbon footprint of clothing.
Made-to-order and made-to-measure are inclusive ways of producing clothing. There are no stock limits, no body sizes excluded or exclusion based on distance.
Local European production and craftsmanship can reach the global market, the knowhow can be saved and cherished. European, sustainable labels can serve clients with specialized products worldwide.
