GEOM

Small home items and furniture made from new, sustainable materials

GEOM

The message of the project

GEOM thrives to explore natural, biosourced materials which combine durability with a limited environmental impact over the products' life cycle.

The goal is to create decorative objects and furniture from innovative, sustainable materials to expand the Boutures collection.

The aim is to demonstrate that sustainable materials can be within reach and suitable for everyday use, which is a good start to a better and cleaner world.

GEOM

The idea behind the project

Sára Kele (designer), Laurence Saugé from Boutures (crafter and merchant), and Marion Duzan collaborated on this project (ecodesign consultant). They are three partners with distinct but complementary backgrounds who are linked by a shared vision of a feasible, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing design.

Sára Kele combines her artistic and aesthetic sensibilities with her knowledge in ecodesign. Marion Duzan will provide assistance with project coordination, ecodesign product creation, feasibility, and marketing. Laurence Saugé, as an engineer and brand owner, offers expertise in material research and development, product development, and an established retail system.

GEOM

What next?

The objective is to create numerous objects and furniture: design research (which has already begun), prototype manufacturing, product testing (resistance, usage, etc.), and economic analysis. The goal at the end of the WORTH programme is to be ready to begin producing and selling these goods as an expansion of the BOUTURES line for both people and professionals. The WORTH programme also provides a chance to learn more about the European market, as BOUTURES is now supplied mostly in France.
