MOKO furniture collection

The MOKO project promotes slow living and environmental awareness. It believes it is important to find a way for PU foam replacement in the furniture industry.

MOKO furniture collection

The message of the project

The project's aim is to encourage people to slow down in a natural home environment. It employs the design methodology "less is more" by reducing upholstery and using coconut fibres with oak wood elements to show the beauty of raw material, with a focus on circular economy.

The final collection consists of a chair, bench/table and a divider.

Idea Behind the Project

The innovation of the idea is to show the beauty of the natural materials, without using any upholstery. The main material of the product is wood, combined with coconut fibre seating surfaces, highlighting the purity of the raw materials. The project aims to preserve the knowledge of local artisans by creating long-lasting objects that can last through generations.

What next?

The project's goal is to shape the perception of sitting objects and refresh the furniture industry towards a more sustainable future. It aims to promote itself through exhibitions, showing the concept as interactive installations to deepen people’s understanding through physical interaction with the material.
