Hanna-Kaisa Alanen

Hanna-Kaisa is an experienced design professional, a graduate of the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki (formerly University of Art and Design Helsinki, re-organized 2010) and has also studied at the Royal College of Art in London. She has over 20 years of experience in designing, a profound knowledge in a new product design and conceptual branding both in fashion and home segments in consumer goods industry.

Currently, Hanna-Kaisa conducts PhD studies in Cognitive Science at the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Jyväskylä. Her mission is to better understand the user experience (UX) in the fashion context as well as to bring design practices and academics closer to each other.

Hanna-Kaisa continues as a member of the Board of Ornamo Art and Design Finland and is setting up an interest group that brings together fashion and textile designers in particular, with the aim of providing inspirational and stimulating cross-border debates.
